Other women may have had a role in the recent split between New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez and Hollywood gal pal Kate Hudson.

According to Life & Style magazine, problems for the pair came when the actress couldn’t get past her concerns about Rodriguez’s wandering eye.

“Kate has some trust issues with A-Rod,” a friend of the “Nine” star explained. “She doesn’t know for sure if there is another woman, but there’s a girl she thinks he has a crush on. She’s been worrying about other women for a while and is definitely the jealous type.”

Worried? Seems Hudson may have finally read last year’s divorce petition from Cynthia Rodriguez, wherein A-Rod’s ex claimed his “extramarital affairs and other marital misconduct” destroyed their union. Or, as a source who overheard a conversation between Hudson and mom Goldie Hawn hinted, perhaps the actress simply had recent headlines on her mind.

“Kate began talking about the Tiger Woods situation,” the source said. “She was saying that she knows what it feels like. It sounded like she was talking about how guys have such a sex drive, they just can't help it. It was clear Kate and A-Rod were fighting or had broken up from the way she was speaking about him. At one point, Goldie told Kate, ‘Just take the high road. Lead your own way.’ ”

“Paula was full of optimism when she left 'Idol,’ ” a friend of the former TV talent judge revealed to Pop Eater. “She was confident she would get her own talk show and even a gig performing live on the Las Vegas strip — none of which has materialized. It’s going to get worse in January when ‘Idol’ is everywhere with Ellen (DeGeneres) sitting in her seat.”

But why wait until January? Abdul could just read one of DeGeneres’ early rave reviews and get a preview of stings to come.

“(Ellen) is a breath of fresh air that is so easy to work with,” an insider told Pop Eater. “Everyone in front of the cameras and behind all adore her, particularly ‘Mr. Mean,’ Simon Cowell, who Ellen has already challenged to a dance-off!”

She knows she can’t take it with her, so country darling Carrie Underwood has a foolproof final financial plan. “Before I die, I want to get rid of all my money,” the singer said in an interview with Self magazine. And as far as Underwood’s concerned, there’s no time like the present to start sharing the wealth. “Recently, I started a foundation to benefit my hometown. I’m looking forward to doing a lot of good for a community that’s a big part of why I am who I am.” … Lindsay Lohan’s estranged dad, Michael Lohan, has renewed his efforts to get his embattled daughter into rehab. This time Papa Lohan hopes for a little help from the woman he once described as a “dark, hideous and a disgusting representation of humanity,” otherwise known as LiLo’s on-again-off-again girlfriend, Samantha Ronson. “Maybe Samantha will help Lindsay turn her life around and get her into rehab,” the elder Lohan said in a quote published in The Sun. “At least I know Samantha cares. Time is running out for Lindsay. We need to save her,” he urged.
