While his legal team dishes out subpoenas, Kevin Federline is heading to the “Hill!”
“One Tree Hill,” that is. The rapper (and ex-husband of Britney Spears) will join the residents of Tree Hill, N.C., for a guest-starring role on The CW’s serialized drama.
K-Fed will be featured in a multi-episode arc as Jason — the “cocky, enigmatic frontman” of a rock band called No Means Yes, People reports.
“Kevin came in and (auditioned) and he did a great job,” show creator Mark Schwahn reportedly told People. “He really seemed like a sweet guy and I just felt that he would be great in that.”
And while he understands that some may see this as stunt casting due to Federline’s current high profile in the media, Schwahn said it actually came down to Kevin being the appropriate actor for the part.
“I have to honestly say he was a good fit for the character,” said Schwahn. “I don’t know anything about the kid, but he seemed very sweet and very sincere about working hard and embracing the opportunity. It’s just about being good in the role.”
Kevin landed his first dramatic acting gig last year, when he guest-starred as a thug named Cole Tritt on an episode of “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.” The episode, in which he wore a pig-mask, received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Non-Prosthetic Makeup this year.
His other TV and film credits include playing the “fry cook” in the infamous Nationwide commercial that aired during last year’s Super Bowl; numerous appearances (as himself) on “WWE: Monday Night Raw;” and his role as a dancer in “You Got Served.”
Finally, of course, is the 2005 UPN show, “Britney + Kevin: Chaotic,” a ratings-challenged reality offering chronicling his and Britney’s courtship and wedding.
