Michael Douglas had every reason to be in a great mood Tuesday, what with having kicked cancer and being out for a culture-filled night on the town.

If anything could sour that mood, however, you'd think it would be news that his ex-wife is still going after half of his take from Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, arguing that he became Gordon Gekko while they were married and she's entitled to a portion of his Gekko-gotten gains.

So, we caught up with Douglas tonight in NYC to find out how he was taking the news. And you know what?

"I don't think anything of it," he exclusively told E! News at the 120th Anniversary of Carnegie Hall afterparty at the Museum of Modern Art.

"I feel great!" Douglas added as a few other reporters sidled over to chat with the Oscar winner.

And, really, why shouldn't he?

"This is not a case that has merit," Douglas' attorney, Marilyn Chinitz, told the New York Daily News after court today (the actor was not present). "This is a case of who has the deep pockets."

A New York judge tossed Diandra's case last year, ruling that it was a matter for a California judge to decide, considering that's where she and Douglas divorced in 2000.

Diandra's lawyer, Nancy Chemtob, is arguing that the case should be revived in New York because her client can't face a lengthy trial in Los Angeles.

Saying she was the victim of "mudslinging," Diandra told the Daily News, "I've always behaved as a lady and I always intend to do so in the future."
