Amy Winehouse checked back into a hospital on Monday, according to People magazine. The British singer had checked out on Friday just days after her rep told Access Hollywood that she was admitted for a series of precautionary tests.
“She had a chest infection (last week) and underwent some tests to make sure nothing else was wrong,” a source told the magazine.
Winehouse appears to be having problems quitting smoking.
“She has been told to give up smoking and was initially struggling with that — she was covered in nicotine patches at one point,” the source added. “But she is making an effort.”
Winehouse was reportedly taken to the London Clinic where she sought treatment for drug problems earlier this year.
As previously reported on Access, the singer canceled a headlining performance at Paris’ Rock En Seine festival at the last minute in August.
In July, Winehouse was admitted to the emergency room of a London hospital after suffering a reaction to medication. This followed a more than 10-day stay due to lung problems.
