To some, mayo is just a condiment. But to "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" matriarch Mama June, it's the creamy stuff of nightmares.

"I cannot stand mayonnaise," the mother of Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson declared in a preview for the family first "holladay" special. "Yes, it is in my house, and this is gonna sound weird. I do eat potato salad. I will eat a tuna fish salad. But I will not eat it if I made it. If somebody else makes it I will eat it. But if I watch somebody make it, I can't do it."

Basically, Mama can't handle seeing the spread in its unmixed form, but she assures viewers that there's a darn good reason for that. When she was just a young’un, her babysitter served it up day and night -- and then some.

"We ate mayonnaise sandwiches for breakfast, lunch, dinners, snack -- every time," Mama said with a shiver. "I can't talk about it, it's so… ugh. It is making my flesh crawl."

Talking about it is nothing compared to facing the giant bowl of it that Honey Boo Boo prepared. Yes, it's seems the pageant princess and her sisters decided to desensitize their mother by confronting her with the dreaded sandwich fixin'.

"I think it's stupid that you're scared of mayonnaise, Mama," Lauryn, aka "Pumpkin," said. "I mean, seriously, it's mayonnaise. … C'mon. That's like ketchup, but it's just white."

But Mama June failed to see the connection between mayonnaise and her favorite 'sketti ingredient. In fact, as Honey Boo Boo's bowl of badness came closer and closer to her, she lost her cool completely.

"My anxiety level is up like beyond out the roof. I mean, like my chest is real tight. My throat feels like it's gonna close up," she warned.

Or, as the show's namesake put it, "Mama was turning white -- just like mayonnaise!"

See what other shockers the family scares up as they celebrate Halloween in the all-new special. It airs Sunday night at 9 p.m. on TLC.
