Director Zack Snyder wasn't kidding around Monday when he tweeted a picture of the new Batmobile, partially covered up, and hinted that on Tuesday, he'd pull off the tarp.

Snyder, who's directing the 2016 yet-unnamed Batman and Superman movie, sent out a photo showing not just the new Batmobile, but what appears to be star Ben Affleck in full Caped Crusader costume.

Batman is standing beside the latest rendition of the famous car looking grim, head down, prompting the inevitable jokes from some fans.

Snyder also name-dropped the Leica camera he used to take the shot, which seemed an odd mention to some.

But Snyder had to know a massive reaction would come, as Batman fans are vocal and loyal, never afraid to air their opinions on everything from the size of the ears on Batman's cowl to the apparent lack of armoring on the suit itself.

While little has been revealed about the movie's plot, casting choices have been announced. In addition to Affleck playing Batman — a controversial choice to many — Henry Cavill will reprise his "Man of Steel" role as Superman. Israeli actress Gal Gadot will play Wonder Woman, Jesse Eisenberg is villain Lex Luthor, and Jeremy Irons will portray Batman's loyal butler, Alfred.

The film is scheduled to open May 6, 2016 — the same date as "Captain America 3." Just call in sick now.
