TODAY style editor Bobbie Thomas shared some beach buys that are perfect for summer, which included a hat that was just a teeny bit too small for Hoda’s head.

The hat fiasco began with Bobbie showing off hat combs, which help prevent hats from flying off in the sea breeze. KLG tried on a jaunty chapeau, asking, “Where’s Hoda’s hat?”

Whereupon Bobbie supplied KLG with a fresh topper, and Hoda gave the one that Kathie Lee had just been wearing a try. Sadly, she could perch it precariously on top of her head; it wouldn’t go down any farther, even when Bobbie tried to assist.

“That’s how it fits,” Hoda said.

Not one to give up easily, Bobbie pushed down, maybe a little too eagerly.

“Ouch, Bobbie! I’m telling you, that’s the way it is,” Hoda said. “I can’t help it. It’s me. It doesn’t go on.”

Ever the good sport, Hoda sat with the hat resting on top of her head for the remainder of the segment.

TODAY.com contributor Jillian Eugenios thinks Hoda could start a new trend of wearing small hats just on top of one's head.
