Carrie Underwood's man has gone country!
No, Mike Fisher isn't trading in his stick for a six-string. Rather, the hockey star is being traded from the Ottawa Senators to the Nashville Predators.
So what does his wife have to say about this?
Not surprisingly, she seems pretty pleased with the decision. After all, ever since the two tied the knot last July, Underwood has had to split her time between Ottawa and the couple's home in Nashville, so this certainly makes things a lot more convenient.
"We will both truly miss Ottawa," Underwood said in a statement on Thursday. "Mike has been such a big part of the community, and I will never forget how they welcomed me with open arms. We obviously love Nashville, and the teams' decision for him to now play with the Predators is an exciting opportunity for Mike. I support him wherever he plays!"
What's more, it looks like Fisher's new teammates are just as glad about the big move.
"Welcome to Mike Fisher," tweeted Nashville Predators forward Steve Sullivan. "We are happy to have him for his hockey and what he brings. He's a heck of a player for us before anything else!"
As for when Fisher will have to actually make his way to Nashville, a rep for the NHL tells E! News that "no firm report date has been set."
