Billy Ray Cyrus subbed in for Hoda this morning, and explained the origin of his unusual, three-part name. When he was a newborn, his family misread his hospital bracelet, which said "Baby Boy Cyrus," as "Billy Ray Cyrus," and decided they liked the sound of it. The rest is country music mullet history. (Well, maybe. Under duress from KLG, Billy admitted that he mayyyyy have made the story up for his book. Was he kidding? Who cares? It's hilarious!)
Kathie Lee, having a three-part moniker herself, wondered just what it is with triple names and notoriety, and gave as examples John Wilkes Booth and Jack The Ripper.
"Can we get some more positive ones?" asked Billy Ray.
"Jamie Lee Curtis," offered KLG. We'll take it!
