Gordon-Levitt’s ‘Dark Knight’ role revealed?

Speculation has run rampant as to what face of evil the young star will don, but Variety reports the actor will play Alberto Falcone (AKA The Holiday Killer).

Joseph Gordon-Levitt will re-team with his “Inception” director, Christopher Nolan, for a villainous role in 2012’s “The Dark Knight Rises,” and while speculation has run rampant as to what face of evil the young star will don, Variety reports Gordon-Levitt will play Alberto Falcone (AKA The Holiday Killer) — son of Gotham crime boss Carmine Falcone.

Additionally, newcomer Juno Temple is reportedly being considered for the role of “a street-smart Gotham girl,” according to the site. The 21-year-old Brit has numerous Indie films under her belt and can currently be seen in Greg Araki’s “Kaboom.”

Temple is also tackling the role of Queen Anne in the upcoming “The Three Musketeers” movie – slated for release on October 14 — alongside Orlando Bloom, Christoph Waltz and Milla Jovovich.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Anne Hathaway has been cast as Selina Kyle (Catwoman) in the highly anticipated superhero film, while “Inception” star Tom Hardy has signed on to play dark juggernaut Bane. “Inception” actress Marion Cotillard has also reportedly been approached for an unknown role.

“The Dark Knight Rises” is scheduled to hit theaters on July 20, 2012.
