Following Thursday night's episode, "Glee" gave fans a glimpse of what's to come next week — the long-awaited tribute to star Cory Monteith.

In a 33-second promo titled "Farewell to Finn," the students of McKinley High gather to remember Monteith's character, former quarterback Finn Hudson. They leave flowers, write messages and shed tears in front of his locker.

The emotional scene plays out as actress Lea Michele, who was Monteith's girlfriend on and off screen, sings Adele's "Make You Feel My Love." (The song was written by Bob Dylan.)

The grief seen in the clip is, of course, real for Monteith's co-stars. The actor died from an overdose of alcohol and heroin in July, at the age of 31.

Show creator Ryan Murphy recently told reporters the episode was hard to film.

"It was very difficult to shoot," he said Thursday at the screening of his FX series, "American Horror Story: Coven." "I mean, the interesting thing about that show is that those actors and the creators really, really loved Cory. The episode is called 'The Quarterback,' and you know Cory really was that, to that group of people and to me particularly. There was nobody on that crew that did not like Cory."

"The Quarterback," will air Oct. 10 at 9 p.m. on Fox.
