A federal judge has ordered Joe Francis to serve house arrest until his next hearing on tax evasion charges.

The “Girls Gone Wild” founder was arrested Monday after showing up to a scheduled court hearing several hours late. U.S. District Court Judge James Otero released him Tuesday morning, but ordered him to wear an electronic monitoring device and remain at home until a Feb. 11 hearing.

Francis wrote in a statement issued after his release that he was sick with the flu and tried unsuccessfully to seek a delay in Monday’s hearing.

Francis has pleaded not guilty to two counts of federal tax evasion. His trial is scheduled to begin in March.
