Shannon Tweed packed her bags and left longtime love Gene Simmons (and their swanky mansion) on last week’s “Gene Simmons Family Jewels.” On Tuesday night’s follow-up, the couple’s kids weighed in on the split and made their allegiance known. Sophie and Nick are Team Mom.
In fact, the only problem the pair had with their mom walking out on their dad was that they thought Shannon should have been the one to stay in the comforts of the family home, not Gene.
“Do you want to hear my opinion on it?” Nick asked. “Yeah, actually (you should have stayed home and kicked him out). You did design the house after all.”
When Shannon then tried to explain that she still loved Gene, but had to leave him anyway after the latest other-women drama, Nick again reassured his mother.
“Whenever I was growing up, when I did something wrong, you guys wouldn’t let me off the hook until I understood what I did,” he said. “So (Dad) did something wrong. Now is the time to be consistent.”
Given Shannon's last icy encounter with Gene, it seems she won’t have any problem being consistent about living apart — at least for now.
