Play the 'Game of Thrones' for real with this new Monopoly special edition

Game for a little "Game of Thrones," anyone?

HBO has announced that its hit fantasy series, "Game of Thrones," based on the "Song of Fire and Ice" books by George R.R. Martin, will be getting a special Monopoly edition later this year.

It does look glorious, with black spaces highlighting such valuable "properties" as Winterfell and King's Landing, plus tokens representing a White Walker, a Direwolf and The Iron Throne (among others). Custom villages and keeps will represent the traditional houses and hotels.

Bear in mind that this "Game of Thrones" is likely to actually have rules that should be obeyed (unlike in the show). No fair setting up a great Wall of Sofa Cushions, poisoning your fellow players or attempting to sever the heads of the household. But as the tweet sent out by HBO notes, the Iron Bank is the Iron Bank!

More details are expected soon; the game is planned to be released later this year. Valar Monopoulis!

Season 5 of "Game of Thrones" premieres on HBO on April 12.
