The "Frozen" craze may have cooled a bit since the animated flick broke box-office records earlier this year, but Walt Disney Animation Studios is not ready to let it go, Variety reports.
A new short featuring the blockbuster's characters will debut in theaters in spring 2015 — along with a brand-new song, the studio revealed Tuesday night in the ABC special "The Story of Frozen: Making an Animated Classic."
"Frozen Fever" will focus on Elsa and Kristoff's attempts to give Anna the best party ever, but Elsa's problematic powers cast a chill over the proceedings. As for Olaf, never fear: The goofy snowman has scored an invite.
None of the actors who gave voice to the key characters — Kristen Bell (Anna), Idina Menzel (Elsa), Jonathan Groff (Kristoff) and Josh Gad (Olaf) — are slated to reprise those roles right now, but a tweet from Gad suggests he'll be watching, at least.
The short reunites directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, producer Peter Del Vecho, and songwriters Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez for the first time since they were all honored with Oscars in March.
"Frozen" has grossed over $1.3 billion worldwide since it was released in late 2013.
