Now, this is a story all about how ... the "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" theme song seems to have become more popular than ever.
From awesome covers of Will Smith's unforgettable rap to an amazing performance by Smith himself, we've heard the lyrics more than a few times this year.
In honor of the beloved NBC sitcom's 25th anniversary — it premiered Sept. 10, 1990 — here are some of our favorite renditions.
1. Jimmy Fallon's spoof
In February, the late-night host marked his weeklong trip to LA with a spot-on recreation of the show's catchy intro.
2. Will Smith on "Ellen"
When Smith visited "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" later that month, he surprised fans by rapping the song during a commercial break.
3. "Fresh Prince" fan pranks C-Span
An anchor was caught off guard in March, when a "fresh" caller identified himself as Jack Strickland from Bel-Air, and proceeded to recite details from the theme song. "At some point during the conversation, a couple of guys who were up to no good essentially started causing trouble in my neighborhood," he deadpanned. "I got in one little fight and my mom got scared and said 'you're moving with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air.'"
4. Alex Trebek on "Jeopardy"
In June, the 75-year-old game-show host rapped part of the song as a clue, and it was amazing.
5. One Direction
Harry Styles wasn't yet born when "Fresh Prince" made its debut, but that didn't stop him and his bandmates from paying tribute to the sitcom with an impressive rendition during a tour stop in Philadelphia earlier this month.
And it's not only the theme song that lives on. Below, watch TODAY.com's supercut of Alfonso Ribeiro dancing "the Carlton" for more than two decades.
