Ellen DeGeneres and Jimmy Fallon: As the Reese's ads used to say, they're two tastes that taste great together. And on Tuesday night, DeGeneres made Fallon's always-funny "Tonight Show" even better by giving stuff away, dancing and playing Password with Oscar nominees Reese Witherspoon and Steve Carell.
The two talk show hosts paired up in the classic game show in which one has to make the other guess a hidden word; Carell and Witherspoon were the other match made in Hollywood heaven.
How good were the pairings? Well, you decide. All DeGeneres had to say was "call," and Fallon guessed the answer: "booty." Carell and Witherspoon struggled a little bit with having to guess "blush," but eventually got around to it.
Before the game, however, DeGeneres grooved onto the stage to join Fallon in a mutual lovefest: "I love the things you do on your show!" said Fallon.
"You do similar things; that's why I like your show so much maybe," said DeGeneres. "I'm watching myself!"
That said, she had to appease the audience's hunger for Given-Away Stuff. "People expect it from me wherever I go," said DeGeneres, who then pulled out a large pink purse and withdrew several pieces of Covergirl makeup (she's a spokeswoman for the company) and ... a $100 Visa gift card for everybody!
And the crowd went wild. And DeGeneres got up to dance.
