Someone needs to go with the flow all right.

Nick Oliveri, a former bassist for California rock band Queens of the Stone Age, was arrested Tuesday night following a five-hour standoff with a SWAT team after he allegedly prevented his estranged girlfriend from leaving their Los Angeles home.

Per an LAPD spokeswoman, Oliveri and his girlfriend got into a heated argument and the musician subsequently barricaded the two of them in their residence when she tried to leave, prompting a neighbor to call the cops and report a disturbance.

A SWAT team arrived on the scene and a standoff ensued, during which time Oliveri released the woman. However, he remained holed up inside until officers persuaded the 39-year-old rocker to give himself up just before 11 p.m.

According to authorities, the couple had gotten into a spat on Monday and he allegedly hit her. Police were called to the scene but Oliveri took off before he could be interviewed.

The unnamed girlfriend returned the next day to move her things out, setting off the tense showdown.

TMZ reported that investigators found a high-powered loaded rifle after taking Oliveri into custody but the LAPD spokeswoman could not confirm that as of press time.

Oliveri was booked on felony domestic violence and is now in jail. Bail was set at $100,000.

An attorney for the bassist could not be reached for comment.
