Elmo is a Muppet of many talents. Not only can he entertain and educate on "Sesame Street," but he can cook, put out a book and even get big late-night laughs.
Well, he still needs a little work with the cooking part — as he proved on "The Tonight Show" Thursday.
While promoting the kids-and-parents kitchen book "Let's Cook," Elmo tried to tell host Jimmy Fallon, Roots leader Questlove and actor Jason Schwartzman how to craft the perfect grilled-cheese waffles. But it didn't go quite as planned.
"Elmo's a horrible chef," he admitted while shaking his head.
So they moved on to making sloppy Oscars, which is basically a sloppy joe that's been renamed in honor of Elmo's "Sesame Street" pal. Maybe that explains the no-rules approach.
"Throw some blueberries in there," an exasperated Elmo said. "Elmo doesn't care!"
Be sure to watch the kitchen fun for yourself in the clip. And then check out our visit with Fallon, who recently released a book of his own.
