Peter Edge, a longtime talent scout and developer of artists including Alicia Keys and Jamie Foxx, was named chief executive of RCA Music Group on Monday.

The group houses labels such as RCA, Jive, J and Arista, and is one of the largest collections of music labels inside Sony Music Entertainment, the recording subsidiary of Sony Corp.

Also, Tom Corson, the former executive vice president of RCA Music Group who played a lead role in the success of Kings of Leon, Ke$ha, Foo Fighters and Kelly Clarkson, was named president and chief operating officer.

Corson will oversee promotion, marketing, publicity, digital, sales, international, video and operations for the label group and report to Edge. Edge, who will oversee the day-to-day operations of the group and its labels, will report to Doug Morris, the longtime Universal Music Group head who became CEO of Sony Music on July 1.

Morris said the two men are "the ideal pair to lead the group's continued development and success moving forward."
