Never say TODAY's Natalie Morales doesn't know how to get into her work. Take her recent visit to the set of "The Walking Dead" — in which she went undercover ... as a zombie!
Well, not exactly: Morales' zombification was completely voluntary and everyone on the set was totally aware of what was going on. But that doesn't mean it wasn't hard work!
First, she got a personalized costume, like all the other "walker" extras. Costume designer Eulyn Womble gave her a whole back story for her character.
"Wow, you really think about who they are before they transform," said Morales.

"We have to," she said. "We are expecting people to believe that these are real."
Once Morales' "zombie original" outfit was finished, "Dead" star Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl, gave her an acting tip: "Instead of just being hungry, have a story in your head."
Then it was time for her to go full zombie. A little over an hour later, Morales was one of the teeming undead!
"You could say I'm dressed to kill!" said Morales.
