It probably sounded like a good idea at the time, but the fire-breathing dragon at the London premiere of “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” drowned out most interviews and eventually drove the director nuts.
First the dragon’s loud roar prompted jokes on the red carpet. The producer asked if Robbie Coltrane -- who plays Hagrid the giant -- had gotten hold of the microphone.
Miranda Richardson joked that the roar made it sound like her stomach was rumbling from bad curry.
But after reporters’ questions were repeatedly drowned out by the dragon, director Mike Newell yelled at the top of his lungs, “Shut up!!!”
The new Harry Potter movie opens November 18th.
