Sean "Diddy" Combs wants Simon Cowell's job — but only if he gets the same paycheck.

The hip-hop mogul admitted on Wednesday's episode of "Lopez Tonight" that he became interested in becoming Cowell's replacement on "American Idol" after he heard how much the British star made as a judge on the singing competition.

"At first when people were asking me if I was interested in the job, I was like, no ... that's not my style but once I heard what Simon makes ... I would love the job," Diddy told host George Lopez.

"I've got six kids. If I would get the same check Simon gets ... we would have a ball," Diddy joked.

And while Diddy isn't likely short on cash, he could use the extra dough to help keep up his habit of bestowing elaborate gifts on his friends and family. As previously reported, he gave a Silver Maybach worth more than $300,000 along with a check for $10,000 to his son, Justin Dior, at his 16th birthday bash in January this year.

Diddy remained tight-lipped, however, when asked to clarify rumors that he had given Justin Bieber a sports car for his 16th birthday as well. The teen sensation had recently been photographed driving a white Lamborghini in Los Angeles.

"I can't confirm any rumors but I will say this ... he is really hot right now. If he asked me for the keys to my house, he got the keys to my house. If he asked for the keys to my Lamborghini, he can ... he can borrow my dog. Justin Bieber is on fire right now," Diddy noted.

Diddy hinted, however, that he might be wiling to lend his expensive wheels to the young pop star.

"If you see him in any Rolls Royce or Lamborghini's, it might be mine ... but it's his for the day," Diddy said.
