Courtney Love's piehole isn't doing Edward Norton any favors.

In seemingly innocuous comments to the New York Post, the Hole frontwoman congratulated her old beau on his engagement to longtime gal-pal, Shauna Robertson. Trouble is, we're not even sure the Oscar-nominated actor is betrothed--and if he is, he's keeping the news to himself.

What gives?

"Wow, it's about time. He's 41, they've been together for six years. He needs to have babies," Love told the newspaper at a New York Cinema Society screening of Meek's Cutoff. "I wonder what kind of ring he got her? He bought me a ruby."

Hmmm...miss him much, Court?

The now Twitter-averse singer-actress however had nothing but kind words to say about her ex, whom she costarred with in The People vs. Larry Flynt.

"He has great character. He's very political. I see him being a senator one day," she quickly added.

According to Norton's rep, if that's the case, he'll still be a single one.

"We don't have any information on his private life and don't comment on it," his publicist told E! News when asked whether Norton and Robertson, a film producer, are getting ready to tie the knot.

Whatever the truth, when she's not acting like the ultimate spoiler, Love has been getting a handle on her big mouth.

A few weeks ago, she shelled out a whopping $430,000 to settle a libel suit filed against her by clothing designer Dawn Simorangkir for a series of nonsensical Twitter rants. The tempestuous widow of late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain also recently denied she had posted a series of offensive tweets bashing E!'s own Chelsea Handler among other celebs, claiming instead the account belonged to an impostor.

As for Norton, he's been keeping a low profile lately, putting his time into Japan relief efforts by soliciting donations to help victims of the disaster through his Crowd Rise website, which he cofounded last year.

If rumors of his engagement do bear out though, then we wish them the best!
