Dates are already set for next summer's Newport jazz and folk festivals.
George Wein, the festivals' longtime producer, says the Folk Festival will be held July 28-29 and the Jazz Festival will be held Aug. 3-5.
The events have long been held at Newport's Fort Adams State Park. This year Wein took the festivals nonprofit in an effort to ensure their long-term existence.
The folk festival sold out this year for the first time in its 52-year history and featured performances by Emmylou Harris, the Decemberists and dozens of other acts.
Top performers at this year's Jazz Festival included Wynton Marsalis and Esperanza Spalding. The Jazz Festival was first held in Newport in 1954.
