While "Dancing With the Stars" co-host Brooke Burke-Charvet looks terrific on the cover of Health magazine, she's aware that at 41, she doesn't look like she's in her mid 20s. But that's just fine with her!

"You have to embrace Mother Nature a little," she explains in the magazine's new issue. "I'm a woman. I'm a wife. I'm a mother of four. I don't want to look like a 25-year-old any more. I want to be my best healthy self."

Burke-Charvet found out she had cancer last summer when doctors discovered a nodule on her thyroid. She had a thyroidectomy in November, an experience she says put the emphasis on being well and healthy over looking super young.

"Getting my diagnosis through a routine physical was pretty shocking," she tells Health, "and a pretty important message for everyone to just be responsible enough to get regular checkups, to take care of your health, to be a good patient and follow up."

In December, she revealed that all of the cancer had been removed, and that her lymph nodes were clear.

Of course, she's not immune to the idea of youthful good looks. "I would like to slow down my aging process," she admits. "But I don't want to look like a pumpkin, all swollen!"

"Dancing With the Stars" premieres March 18 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
