Jake Pavelka got misty-eyed when he learned he was leaving "Dancing With the Stars."

"The Bachelor" star was eliminated from "Dancing" Tuesday. His eyes filled with tears as he thanked his professional partner, Chelsie Hightower.

"You are one of my best friends," he told her. "I have loved every second of this. I love you."

He also thanked his partner "for being so great to my beautiful fiancee, Vienna," to whom he proposed during the finale of "The Bachelor." She sat in the front row of the audience throughout Pavelka's run on the show.

The 32-year-old pilot-turned-reality star came into the results show in last place, earning 21 points out of 30 for a samba that judges said lacked rhythm. He and Hightower also placed last during the swing-dance marathon on Monday's episode.

Judges' scores are combined with viewer votes to determine which celebrity is ousted each week.

Tuesday's episode also featured a performance by Melissa Etheridge, who played the title track from her new album, "Fearless Love," and her Grammy-winning hit, "Come To My Window."

Reality star Kate Gosselin, astronaut Buzz Aldrin and actors Shannen Doherty and Aiden Turner were eliminated on previous episodes of the ABC dance-off.

Still in the running for the show's mirrorball trophy are singer Nicole Scherzinger, Olympic figure skater Evan Lysacek, actresses Pamela Anderson and Niecy Nash, sportscaster Erin Andrews and football star Chad Ochocinco. Each will perform two dances on Monday.
