Duritz still looks much the same as he did when the band broke out big in the early '90s with hits like "Mr. Jones" and "Round Here."

Over the years, the singer-songrwriter has made nearly as many headlines for who he's dated (including former "Friends" stars Jennifer Anniston and Courteney Cox, as well as actresses Mary Louise Parker and Emmy Rossum ), as he has for the music he's made. But last year Duritz decided to separate romantic myth from fact.

For instance, rumors that paired him with Christina Applegate proved wrong.

"We never dated — she was my landlady when I was living in LA!" Duritz told The Telegraph. And Winona Ryder? He knew her, but "she was dating my friend Ryan Adams."

Duritz has never been married.

As for his music, he's still making it and performing it with the band he founded 23 years ago. They recently released a new single, "Palisades Park."

The next Counting Crows album, "Somewhere Under Wonderland," comes out Sept. 2.
