Cher has no problem talking about her child, Chaz Bono, except when it comes to using the right wording.
"She's a very smart girl--boy!," she says in the new issue of Vanity Fair. "This is where I get into trouble. I still don't remember to call her 'him.'"

The occasional slip-up comes nearly a year after Cher's daughter became her son following gender-reassignment surgery.
Of course, trying to remember to use the proper pronoun can also be tricky when talking about the past. For instance, when the Oscar winner recalls a day out with Chaz (then Chastity) from years ago, she says:
"One time, when Chaz was little, we were on a field trip, and she said, 'I'm so pissed off, Mom. You can never not be Cher--we can never just do something."
Meanwhile, Cher, who supported the change, admits it is still one that is sometimes hard to comprehend.
"If I woke up tomorrow in a guy's body, I would just kick and scream and cry and f--king rob a bank, because I cannot see myself as anything but who I am--a girl," Cher says. "I would not take it as well as Chaz has. I couldn't imagine it."
