Charlize Theron, Josh Hartnett weirdly good at 'Tonight Show' charades

It was a celebrity charades dream-team match-up on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" Tuesday as Fallon and surprise partner Josh Hartnett squared off against announcer Steve Higgins and Charlize Theron.

The teams took turns and got 45 seconds to emote pop culture clues like "Murder, She Wrote" and "Private Dancer" ("Dancer" was less successful than the others, though to be fair, Josh Hartnett may be too young to know the Tina Turner tune).

There was no holding back on enthusiasm; Theron (on to promote her new movie "A Million Ways to Die in the West") entreated the audience to call out what clue she should pick next; then when they got too noisy, shouted "OK, everybody, shut up!"

"You can't say that!" laughed Fallon.

But one of the real highlights was Hartnett (on to talk about his "Penny Dreadful" series), whose monster-stomping and clawing abilities made one of his clues so easy to figure out (hint: it was "Godzilla") that Fallon had it in about 7 seconds.

So which team came away a winner? Check out the video and see. But for our money, everybody won.

"The Tonight Show" airs weeknights on NBC at 11:35 p.m.; "Penny Dreadful" airs on Showtime Sundays at 10 p.m.; and "A Million Ways to Die in the West" will be in theaters on May 30.
