Charlie Sheen and Lindsay Lohan have been working on a slow-burn BFF relationship for some time now: He's offered her advicemoney, and to help pay for a dress, and she's recently filmed a guest spot on his show, "Anger Management."

But as he told Jay Leno on Wednesday's "Tonight Show," their budding friendship (they're also in "Scary Movie 5" together) hasn't gotten in the way of her career strategies.

"Day one was fabulous," said Sheen. "She was on time. She knew her lines, hit every mark. Made us look off our game, which we weren't."

All well and good. And on day two? "It was as though she had us held hostage because she gave us half the show," he said. "No, she had an 'earache' and was a little bit late ... was a little bit four hours late. No, she was a couple of hours late. She was really not feeling well. We just worked around it."

He paused and said, "She was late, what can I say?"

These actors and their fickle personalities. Sheen also weighed in on the report that she walked off the set with some jewelry, and cleared up any misconceptions: "It's true, but it's not true," he said. "She borrowed some stuff, then was told she had to pay for it and they would take it out of her check, and she said 'fine' and that's all it was."

Time will tell on whether the friendship can survive their working partnership.

"Anger Management" airs Thursdays at 9:30 p.m. on FX.
