Not on Nicole Kidman's Christmas list? A cozy holiday with ex Tom Cruise and girlfriend Penelope Cruz. According to published reports, the rail-thin actress reportedly extended olive branch to the Cruise/Cruz's, inviting them to join her on Wakaya Island in the Pacific with her children. But my source says, Not true! "Are you kidding me? There is no way Nicole is going to spend Christmas with Tom and Penelope - that is not something she would want to do."
Cruise's rep says only, "Tom will be shooting a movie in Los Angeles over the holidays - he won't be able to be with his children or Nicole." But don't feel too sorry for the “Cold Mountain” star - she has her parents coming along and she plans on playing "a lot of scrabble." What about rock star Lenny Kravitz, Nicole's most recent romance? Don't hold your breath waiting for that ticket, Lenny - my spies say that things between the two "have cooled."
After a screaming row with her sister-in-law at a family wedding recently, Julia Roberts has decided to take matters into her own hands, literally. The actress is cooking her own Christmas dinner - and Danny's feisty sister is NOT on the guest list. Roberts says, "I love cooking and cook the dinner my mother used to make, turkey, stuffing and pumpkin and chocolate pie." My source says, "This is her way of making sure that she has a good time, and taking control of a potentially lethal situation!"
Recently split from her cheating husband, Halle Berry will be nursing her wounds with her mom over Christmas. The unlucky-in-love actress, who recently revealed a secret crush on Justin Timberlake, says she'll be spending the holidays with her mom relaxing on the island of Hawaii.
Another celeb saying "Aloha" this holiday is Robert Downey, Jr. who says, "This Christmas, I intend to be with Woody Harrelson in Hawaii. On his property. You know, picking fruit and running around in a sarong. I want to get in touch with what it's like to have no shoes on your feet."
Time to be together
They may not be an official couple yet – but songbird Sheryl Crow is spending Christmas with newly divorced hunk and champion cyclist Lance Armstrong. Sources say the hot twosome will be heading off for a tropical island to “get to know each other better.”
New bride (and mommy-to-be) Gwyneth Paltrow and hubby Chris Martin are shuttling between their families in the U.K. and the U.S. for the holidays.
And what about Paltrow’s ex Ben Affleck? Affleck and his on-again, off-again fiancée Jennifer Lopez will also be moving between both families. It’s Christmas Eve in Boston and Christmas day in the Bronx with Lopez’ family.
Expectant father Matt LeBlanc says that this Christmas is all about family. The “Friends” star will be spending Christmas with his pregnant wife Melissa and her two children from a previous relationship. "I'll be spending it with family. I'll have my Mom come over and we'll have a giant Christmas dinner at the house. I'll try and get as many of the family together as possible, and by that I also mean my close friends. I consider them family as well."
‘I'm sent to buy the special Barbie dolls, then I get there and they've sold the last Barbie and I'm in trouble and don't know what to do. It's crazy.’
Beyonce Knowles says she'll be at home with her tight-knit family "because mom wouldn't have us be anywhere else. She cooks the world's best Christmas dinner with all the trimmings."
Newly elected California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger says, "I do all the shopping for the kids, Maria and the kids send me out to the mall last minute on Christmas Eve, and I'm just like any other dad. You don't believe it? Its true, I'm sent to buy the special Barbie dolls, then I get there and they've sold the last Barbie and I'm in trouble and don't know what to do. It's crazy. Apart from that, we always enjoy a family Christmas at home."
Steven Spielberg says he'll be "spending Christmas with my children, all seven of them, at home."
Morgan Freeman is taking a non-traditional approach to Christmas this year, and says he'll be "sailing with my wife and friends on our 46-foot ketch around the Caribbean for some relaxation and sunshine. No traditional Christmas food, fresh fish and kicking back having fun."
Brooke Shields says, "I love Christmas and especially this year as it's the first for our baby. If we're at my place I'll cook but it depends on where I am and whose family's house we're at. I usually just sprawl about in my sweat pants and relax."
Keeping it low-key is former “West Wing” star, Rob Lowe. "I like to spend Christmas Day at home, real casual. I don't mind travelling after on vacation, somewhere exotic like Hawaii or skiing, but I like to be at home with the family on Christmas itself, in my own bed snuggling with my wife, see the kids (Matthew and John Owen), see them so excited, they can't sleep the night before then getting out of bed and running downstairs to get their presents. Of course they believe in Santa."
Lowe isn't the only family man. SylvesterStallone makes the kids his priority as well. "It's all about the children now. Being a father makes you see Christmas and everything else with different eyes, you're so grateful and blessed, it's a really magical time that I love to spend at home with them."
Tradition with all the trimmings
Joan Collins prefers and old-fashioned Christmas. "I'm very much English, I don't like Hollywood at all at Christmas, my sister Jackie likes LA, the sunshine, the palm trees and swimming pool at this time of year, but I'm very traditional. I have the traditional English tree, absolutely huge and real. In Hollywood they go for artificial trees which I can't stand. I have loads of Christmas decorations on it, I love decorating my tree, some of the decorations are very nostalgic because I've had them since my children were babies, and some of them I made myself. On Christmas day, believe it or not, I actually cook. Nobody believes that, even the family (she laughs), but it's true, I do it all myself. Turkey and roast potatoes, broccoli and peas and carrots and Christmas pud and the whole thing."
Also on the traditional track, actor-director Clint Eastwood. "Our tradition is to stay home, light a fire and watch Morgan (six) open her presents with a look of wonder on her face."
If she has a moment from her busy career to take a breath, Britney Spears says, "I totally love the whole holiday season although I'm lucky if I get Christmas Day off! I love being home with family and friends and doing the whole Christmas thing - turkey, presents, everything!"
Jennifer Connelly plans to spend her holiday on the slopes with husband Paul Bettany. "This year we want to try to go away and go skiing. Take Kai (her six-year-old son) skiing, he loves to ski. I go to upstate New York a lot over the holidays which is where I lived as a kid. I have a favorite aunt who lives there and my cousins. We all get together and have kids and now our kids have the same relationships that we had when we were kids. It's all a bit eerie but a lot of fun. There's a lot of sliding down hills in sacks and all that kind of stuff."
