These days, we almost expect to hear shocking stories about certain celebrity parents. Michael Jackson dangles his baby from a balcony? Old news. Britney Spears ignorant of child car safety? Yawn. But superdad Brad Pitt?
According to Life & Style, Brad played precariously with Pax on a recent visit to a New Orleans construction site. The reportedly reluctant 4-year-old spent 45 minutes as a passenger on Mr. Pitt’s wild ride as Brad zipped around on an ATV-like vehicle.
“[Pax] was ready to stop after 10 minutes,” one witness told the magazine. “He was miserable.” What’s more, the witness said that Pax was not strapped in with a bolster seat or wearing a helmet. Instead, Brad drove “Britney style,” with Pax sitting on his lap.
Earlier that day, Pax held on for dear life as Brad took him on a 30-foot ride in a cherry picker with only dad’s arm to keep him from falling. “Pax should be wearing a helmet and strapped into a harness fastened to the equipment,” safety expert Harris Gross told Life & Style.
Why the gross oversight in safety? “[Brad] says he loves sharing his interests with the boys,” said a friend. Oh, well. OK, then.
Pam Anderson and Rick Salomon really over this time Looks like Pam Anderson’s marriage counseling is a bust. Though she blogged about “working things out,” on her Web site pre-Christmas, In Touch Weekly reports that the blonde bombshell is finally ready to call it quits with Paris Hilton’s porn co-star, Rick Salomon.
“She realized that she’d made a mistake by rushing into her third marriage with the Hollywood bad boy,” an insider told the magazine.

Pam rang in the new year without her husband of three months, then grabbed her sons Brandon, 11, and Dylan, 10, for a family vacation in Canada. “She needed to get away while Rick moved out of the house,” a friend explained.
Nesting in a cozy 12-room cabin, Pam surrounded herself with just her kids, parents and a private chef. A Vancouver Canucks/New York Rangers hockey game was her only outing, reports In Touch.
There, she seemed to do her best to forget all about yet another failed matrimony. “She was drinking champagne and partying until finally arriving home at 5 a.m.,” another Pam pal said.

Following a fight with a show executive, “House” hothead Hugh Laurie did a disappearing act, flying back his London home for a three-day stay. So the show’s crew members did a little magic of their own, reports the National Enquirer’s Mike Walker. Look for a certain church scene on the Jan. 29 episode, when Hugh’s face is superimposed on a body double via computer graphics. Producers are hoping you won’t miss him! … The honeymoon’s over for Katherine Heigl and her new hubby, Josh Kelley, so they’re finally shacking up. “We waited until we got married to move in together,” Josh told Life & Style. “I’m from the South; that’s the way we roll.”
