Fox has ordered a test pilot for a late-night show featuring Steve Schirripa, known for his role as Bobby “Bacala” Baccalieri on HBO’s “The Sopranos.”
“We’ve made no secret of the fact that we’re interested in pursuing possibilities in late-night,” a Fox spokesman said. ”Steve has a very unique perspective and voice, and we’re curious to see what he can come up with.”
Schirripa’s credits include the romantic comedy feature ”Must Love Dogs” and an appearance opposite former “Sopranos” cast member Drea de Matteo on NBC’s “Joey.” He also appears in the romantic comedy “That’s Amore,” due out next year.
The untitled talk show project will be executive produced by Hugh Fink, a co-creator of Comedy Central’s “The Showbiz Show With David Spade” and former head writer on CBS’ “The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson.”
