Onetime “Bachelor” star Jake Pavelka has taken a pretty substantial PR hit following his breakup with Vienna Girardi, and it looks like the hit was big enough to permanently damage his career, according to some experts.
“He dug himself a big hole,” Vinnie Potestivo, reality casting director and producer of Vinnie Potestivo Entertainment, which has had a hand in casting “The Hills” and “The Real World,” told Life & Style. “I don’t foresee him being a romantic lead any time soon.”
There are rumors that Pavelka is shopping around a talk show, but if he doesn’t cash in on his “Bachelor” fame soon, his odds at scoring a program aren’t good.
“The shelf life of a 'Bachelor' is only as long as it takes for the next one to come along,” Ryan Schinman, CEO of the talent-branding agency Platinum Rye Entertainment, told the magazine. “It’s hard to maintain momentum, and I don’t think he did himself any favors with the Vienna interview.”
And what do two former 'Bachelorettes' have to say about Jake?
“It’s hard for anyone who started on a reality show to be taken seriously as an actor,” Trista Sutter told Life & Style. Jen Schefft agrees: “Just as I’ll always be known as Jen from ‘The Bachelorette,’ he’ll always be Jake from ‘The Bachelor.’ ”
Fox, Monaghan steam up Eminem videoMegan Fox will be filming some intimate scenes with "Lost's" Dominic Monaghan in Eminem and Rihanna's latest music video.
“It shows both sides of the spectrum: The good and the bad and the hot and the heavy,” a source with knowledge about the shoot told TODAYshow.com.
The source, who is not authorized to speak of behalf of Fox, said that the actress has signed on to star in "Love the Way You Lie" with Monaghan. The song is about a volatile relationship — and the video reflects just that. It is based off Eminem's own relationship with his ex-wife, Kim, whom he married and divorced twice. Monaghan and Fox will assume the roles of the on-again, off-again couple. Wednesday was a prep day on set, with filming to commence on Thursday and Friday.
"Things start off with a sex scene between Megan and Dominic," an insider said to E! Online, who described the tone of the video as “gritty,” but still sensual. "Then they fight but end up having sex again."
Director Joseph Kahn, who has worked with Eminem on three other videos and Rihanna once before, confirmed on Twitter that he was on the project, adding that the media frenzy has made it difficult to work. "Paparazzi stop trying to ruin my shots. Thank you," he tweeted.
Slimmer 'Housewife' vows to never release a singleA noticeably skinnier Caroline Manzo from “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” attended House Beautiful’s Kitchen of the Year event Monday night in New York. She said she lost 20-plus pounds while still eating Italian food just by cutting down on sweets and eating smaller portions.
“I eat what I want when I want, but I don’t eat crazy amounts of food,” Manzo said to TODAYShow.com. “I drink tons and tons of water, and I exercise.”
Manzo said she was motivated to lose weight after her husband, Albert, went through lap-band surgery. She saw how easy it was to trim excess weight, saying it was “really very simple and in your face.”
One fad Manzo won’t be trying out is a singing career. After not saying anything positive or negative about Danielle Staub’s singing — “whatever floats your boat" — Manzo said she will never release a single.
“Caroline does not sing!” she said. “That is an official statement!”
