Late-night talk-show entrances are pretty routine — a guest will walk from backstage, maybe through a curtain, shake the host's hand, and take his or her seat at the chair across from the desk.

Bill Murray's entrance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" Thursday night was anything but routine.

The show has been in Austin, Texas, this week for South by Southwest, and when Kimmel introduced Murray as his guest, the comedian had orchestrated an entrance perfectly customized for the region.

Murray rode onto the stage on horseback, while wearing a sundress and cowboy hat, surrounded by an eight-piece mariachi band.

"Well, you look very pretty. Is this your typical Austin wear?" Kimmel asked.

"No, I'm usually jeans and a T-shirt," Murray joked. "This is just for tonight because it's special."

Special, indeed. That's one entrance we won't forget.
