Rose Bowl fans, “Big” Kenny Alphin says Big & Rich are comin’ to your city.
The country duo will perform at the Bowl Championship Series’ title game on Jan. 4 in Pasadena, Calif., Alphin told The Associated Press on Thursday. It was unclear when the performance would take place.
However, Maura Mooney, a spokeswoman for Warner Bros. Records Nashville, Big & Rich’s record label, said Friday that plans were not final.
Alphin and partner John Rich are big college football fans. They recorded a special version of their song “Comin’ to Your City” for ESPN’s “College Gameday.”
Big & Rich are known for their “hick-hop” style that blends rock, rap and country music. They sold more than 2 million copies of their major label debut, “Horse of a Different Color.”
The duo played at a show in Jackson to benefit Country Music Television’s “One Country” campaign for hurricane relief. Proceeds went to six organizations that are aiding victims of Hurricane Katrina, including the American Red Cross.
