Justin Bieber’s debut appearance in Australia has caused another case of tween chaos.
The teen star caused what the New Zealand Herald called “mass scenes of hysteria” in Sydney, Australia, on Monday morning.
The star had planned to perform on the “Sunrise” morning show, but due to an unruly crowd of thousands, authorities cancelled the gig — after numerous fans had camped out overnight.
The paper reported that a number of fans “forced a crowd surge” at 2 a.m., with incidents throughout the night causing injuries and leaving at least 10 girls cared for by paramedics following fainting spells.
“I am just as disappointed as everyone else with the news from this morning. I want to sing for my fans,” Bieber tweeted.
However, according to Melbourne’s The Age, the young singer did end up performing one track, doing his hit “Baby” to calm fans then telling them to head home.
The incident wasn’t Bieber’s first time causing tween panic.
In November, a Long Island, New York, mall was the scene of a similar crush, ultimately leading to charges being filed against the singer’s manager, Scott Braun, after he allegedly failed to send a tweet to Bieber’s fans to ease the situation.
