Girls may already rule the world, but Beyonc has her eyes set on somewhere much bigger: Space!

The songstress has popped up in a few unexpected places lately (like a surprise visit to a Target in New York, for one), but her latest cameo is out of this world. Literally.

Yesterday Jay-Z's better half recorded a special message for the astronauts aboard the Atlantis space shuttle. So what did B have to say to those very spacial travelers?

It was a wake-up call!

"Good morning, Atlantis. This is Beyonc," she told the crew aboard the NASA space shuttle. "Sandy, Chris, Doug and Rex, you inspire all of us to dare to live our dreams, to know that we're strong enough and smart enough to achieve them."

That's quite the way to start your ninth gravity-free day amongst the stars! But even high in orbit, Beyonc is still all about girl power!

"This song is especially for my girl Sandy," Beyonc told mission specialist Sandy Magnus as "Run the World (Girls)" played over the speaker. "And all the women who've taken us to space with them and the girls who are our future explorers."

And the good vibes kept on flowing as Sandy responded to Houston, saying "Good morning, Houston! A big thanks to Beyonc for taking some time out of her schedule to record us a greeting. We're ready for another day here in Atlantis! Hopefully we as a team at NASA can keep our inspirational work up for the young people of America."

The Atlantis is bound for the International Space Station to deliver supplies before touching back down in Florida in less than a week.

Gotta wonder if any other celebs will blast into orbit before the shuttle returns to Earth.
