TV
It's the biggest week of the year in reality TV. "American Idol" will crown a new king — can it be anyone but Adam Lambert? Tune in to see. If dancing is more your thing, "Dancing With the Stars" also crowns a new champ this week. But dance fans can continue to get their fix with the beginning of "So You Think You Can Dance." The two dance shows share a weird siblinghood — "Dancing" pros often get their start on "So You Think," so tune in and see if you can pick out the next Lacey Schwimmer. ("American Idol" finale May 20, 8 p.m., Fox. "Dancing With the Stars" finale May 19, 8 p.m., ABC. "So You Think You Can Dance" premieres May 21, 8 p.m., Fox)

Of all the "Bachelor" and "Bachelorette" couples to date, only a "Bachelorette" duo, Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter, have married and had children. Can Jillian Harris, the new "Bachelorette," find her own Prince Charming? Jillian was rejected by Seattle single dad Jason Mesnick, but so was "Dancing With the Stars" beauty Melissa Rycroft, and that rejection worked out pretty well for her. ("The Bachelorette" premieres May 18, 9 p.m., ABC.)

Movies Who says you need Arnold Schwarzenegger to make a “Terminator” film? Director McG is ready to update the franchise with help from Christian Bale, who stars as John Connor in “Terminator Salvation.” Of course, it’s a bit worrying that Bale is employing the same gravel-laden voice he used in “Dark Knight,” but here’s hoping he can stop the machines. Real-life porn star Sasha Grey stars in Steven Soderbergh’s new film “The Girlfriend Experience.” She plays a prostitute whose services go beyond sex — she plays the role of girlfriend to her johns. You may go for the sex, but in its review of the film, Cinematical.com wrote, “Soderbergh's made an intimate and yet honest movie about honesty and intimacy.” (Opens May 22)

DVDPity the poor mall cop: He gets no respect. "Paul Blart: Mall Cop" stars Kevin James from "King of Queens" as a hapless shopping-mall security officer who patrols on a Segway and has a crush on a mall clerk. Roger Ebert praised the film as "a slapstick comedy with a hero who is a nice guy. I thought that wasn't allowed anymore." The film is PG, so rent it with the kids. (Out on DVD May 19)

Tom Cruise's "Valkyrie" earned more than its share of pre-release buzz. The casting of Cruise as Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg, one of the Nazi officers involved in the 1944 plot to kill Adolf Hitler, was controversial from the beginning, since the Germans are no fans of Cruise's Scientology. The film itself was almost secondary to the buzz, but earned decent, if mixed reviews. The ending of the plot is well-known, but the story still intrigues. (Out on DVD May 19)

Music
Eminem
reunites with producer Dr. Dre on “Relapse,” his first album since 2005’s greatest hits compilation, “Curtain Call.” According to In Touch Weekly, the death of Eminem’s friend Proof inspired songs on the album, which also features the return of Eminem’s other persona, Slim Shady, on the song “3 A.M.” (On sale May 19)

If you watch such shows as “Grey’s Anatomy,” “CSI,” and “House,” you’ve heard Iron & Wine. The band, which is actually the stage name of singer-songwriter Sam Beam, also had a song featured in “Twilight.” Beam’s new album, “Around the Well,” is a collection of B-sides and rarities, and features covers of songs from Flaming Lips, the Postal Service, New Order and Stereolab. (On sale May 19).
