MoviesOne, two, Freddy's coming for you. And he's played by ... Kelly Leak from "The Bad News Bears"? Yes, the legendary "Nightmare on Elm Street" slasher movie franchise has been rebooted, with Jackie Earle Haley in the Freddy Krueger role made famous by Robert Englund, a bladed glove and a whole lot of scar makeup. The new version reportedly gets back to the character's roots, eliminating a lot of the joke-cracking to focus instead on the horror. Three, four, we're ready for more. (Opens April 30.)

TVThe co-creator of ABC's new series "Happy Town" told the Vancouver Sun that if he gave a friend a dollar for every review that doesn't compare it to "Twin Peaks," he'd never have to pay a dime. He's probably right — it's hard to hear about a small-town drama where the town has creepy goings-on under the surface and not think of "Peaks." This time, the town is Haplin, Minn., which suffered a string of unsolved kidnappings five years ago. Now the kidnapper seems to be back, and "Happy Town" is about to prove its name wrong. (Premieres April 28, 10 p.m., ABC.)

The 1968 My Lai massacre has faded into the history books, but the worst atrocity in American military history has still never been fully explained. PBS's "My Lai" features interviews with some of the men involved who have never spoken on film before. (April 26, 9 p.m., PBS.)

DVDHeath Ledger was filming "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" when he died in 2008. The role was tweaked so that Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law could play Ledger's character at various times in the film. Variety critic Todd McCarthy wrote, "With Ledger onscreen more than might have been expected, the film possesses strong curiosity value bolstered by generally lively action and excellent visual effects." (Out on DVD April 27.)

"It's Complicated" is the other Meryl Streep movie of 2009, in other words, not "Julie & Julia." Streep plays Jane, a wealthy bakery owner who renews her romance with ex-husband, Jake (Alec Baldwin), at the same time she's starting to fall for a new guy, architect Adam (Steve Martin). John Krasinski shines in a small role as Jane's soon-to-be son-in-law. Wesley Morris of The Boston Globe wrote, "Streep is in movie star mode, and she’s irresistible." (Out on DVD April 27.)
