Nicolas Cage has another headache on his hands.
With their 19-year-old son, Weston, hospitalized earlier this week in a Los Angeles psych ward after a confrontation at a local restaurant, it just so happens the Face/Off star's estranged baby mama demanded last week that Cage cough up more information about Weston's condition.
We guess Knowing is half the battle?
In an ongoing dispute with her ex-boyfriend, Christina Fulton filed a motion June 3 in L.A. Superior Court to force Cage to update her about the young headbanger's condition as part of a $13 million lawsuit she filed last September against the 47-year-old thesp claiming he not only mentally and emotionally abused her, but also evicted her from her home and took Weston out from under her care.
In court documents obtained by E! News (read them in full here ), Fulton's attorney states that his client cared for "medically challenged" Weston until he was 18 and that he "suffered from a number of mental, psychological, and physical ailments" that "required round the clock supervision and parental care." Fulton also explained that she quit her acting career to care for Weston before he was taken away from her.
A hearing has been set for July 14 on whether the actor will be required to disclose to her more information about Weston's current state of mind as well as to fork over his tax returns.
Perhaps all this squabbling had been weighing on Weston's mind when he purportedly flipped out?
In any case, his father ended up being deposed by Fulton's camp on May 19 and opened up about his own anger issues, particularly his April 15 arrest in New Orleans on suspicion of domestic abuse, disturbing the peace and public intoxication, charges that prosecutors later decided not to pursue.
"I was trying to get into the house because I did not want to be in public after having a few drinks," he said in the deposition. "The house we were renting, which we had newly rented, looked identical to another house and I was trying to get in and I raised my voice and someone called the cops. But my wife doesn't remember me grabbing her arm even to lead her away. It didn't happen."
Cage added that the New Orlean cop who arrived on the scene had his taser out but did not taser him. He also remarked that he had never been arrested before and learned a valuable lesson.
"I'll never talk back to the cops again, that is for sure," he said.
