Brazilian police say armed men have invaded a luxury hotel in Rio de Janeiro and robbed at least 10 tourists.
The Santa Teresa Hotel was targeted early Monday by four armed men who scaled a tall wall surrounding the property.
Police say foreign tourists were among those robbed, but they didn't disclose nationalities. It was not clear if anyone was hurt.
The hotel opened in 2008 in the bohemian neighborhood of Santa Teresa in central Rio. Singer Amy Winehouse stayed there this year during a concert tour.
The hotel sits in a neighborhood surrounded by slums. But most of them have been cleared of drug gangs as part of a new policing program meant to secure the city before the 2016 Olympics.
