It’s official! Pop star Ariana Grande is an expert at celebrity impressions.
As we all know, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and clearly the 23-year-old showed she had the “greatest love of all” for music legend Whitney Houston on Aug. 4 with a spot-on performance.
It was during the season finale of ABC's "Greatest Hits" that the “Nobody Does It Better” singer nailed the tribute to Houston, performing renditions of “How Will I Know” and “Queen of the Night,” with pitch-perfect precision.
Just moments before the spellbinding medley, Grande made sure to share her humbled excitement with her 40.5 million Twitter followers: “Honored to be paying homage to my angel tonight,” she mused.
And via Instagram, Grande received 1.1 million likes with a photo in which she thanked the show, adding that she was “honored and grateful for having been a part” of the special moment.
To capture the true spirit of the '80s and '90s, Grande styled her hair into a crimped updo, complete with a pearl choker, embodying the style of the era, while staying true to her own recognizable aesthetic.
In addition, die-hard Whitney fans might also notice Grande’s knee-high metallic boots as a nod to the 1992 film "The Bodyguard."
