Aretha Franklin certainly sounds like she's on the mend.

Though her break from performing continues, the Queen of Soul's voice was heard for the first time in months today when she called into The Wendy Williams Show today from a hotel near her Detroit home to give an update on her medical situation--whatever it may be exactly.

"My health is superb," Franklin said, prompting a round of applause.

After she underwent surgery, several family members told media outlets last year that the 18-time Grammy winner was suffering from pancreatic cancer, but no one ever went on the record. Franklin never directly addressed the reports, either, telling Jet magazine this month that her health problem was " resolved."

To continue the R&R process, Franklin said that she's looking for a "fabulous beach" to unwind, perhaps Hilton Head, S.C. But "I do have two more weeks of downtime before I can get out," she added.

The "Respect" singer also said that she "absolutely" planned to reschedule all of the tour dates she was forced to cancel, including one at Radio City Music Hall.

And though she's a diva in the best sense of the word, Franklin flashed a bit of her star power, as well, when Williams assured her that the photo she requested was accompanying the identifier at the bottom of the screen.
