Are you ready for "The Fall Guy: The Movie"?

Deadline.com is reporting that director Martin Campbell ("Green Lantern," "Casino Royale") could take on the planned film. Which leads us to the big question: There's going to be a "Fall Guy" movie?

You might remember the 1981-1986 show, with Lee Majors as a stuntman-bounty hunter and a sexy Heather Thomas (not Locklear, this is the other 1980s blonde named Heather). Majors' ex-wife Farrah Fawcett made a cameo in the pilot and was famously mentioned in the awesome theme song. ("Well, I'm not the kind to kiss and tell, but I've been seen with Farrah.")

The stuntman career is ripe for all kinds of movie adventures. (Ryan Gosling's Driver in "Drive" was a stuntman, and that knowledge served him well in his criminal driving.)

But really? Remaking "The Fall Guy"? Apparently Hollywood figures that rather than make an original movie about a stuntman, they could coast on a TV title that's familiar to those of us who were around in the '80s.

At the very least, it'll start up the ever-present debate between  those who want studios to leave our retro memories alone and those who really, really liked "The A Team" movie. (Which wasn't terrible.)

For now, I'm just going to watch those great 'Fall Guy" opening credits and hear that classic theme song again. As one of the comments on the YouTube video notes, "Lee Majors sang his OWN theme song...like a boss." Let's see whoever they cast as the new star do that.

What do you think? Will you see "The Fall Guy" on the big screen, or does it depend on casting? Tell us on Facebook.
