Authorities say a man who was working in a city anti-gang program has been charged in the robbery of a rapper with the group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.

Deputy District Attorney Paul Nunez says 30-year-old Marlo Jones was charged Tuesday with one felony count each of robbery and first-degree burglary.

Jones and several other suspects are accused in the choking of rapper Byron McCane — also known as Bizzy Bone — in his hotel room and the theft of his jewelry on Jan. 5.

Jones is listed as working for a subcontractor under a Los Angeles gang-intervention program. Authorities say he was immediately terminated from the position.

He is being held in lieu of $300,000 bail. His arraignment is pending.
