Amy Adams earned her second Oscar nomination this year for a role as a naive young nun in “Doubt,” but in an interview in the February/March issue of BlackBook, she revealed that one of her upcoming roles would let audiences see a new side of her.
She’ll play Amelia Earhart alongside Ben Stiller in the upcoming “A Night At The Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian” — in tight pants.
“Tight jodhpurs,” Adams told the mag. “It’s going to be an Amy Adams butt show. I was like, ‘That’s a lot of information.’ I’m not known for showing my ass on camera, but there it is.”
Indeed, the actress — who earned her first Oscar nom for her breakthrough role in 2005’s “Junebug” — is better known for her innocent characters than any on-screen antics.
“I misbehave,” she said. “I just do it in private.”
“A Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian” is due in May, but first the busy actress will star in the Sundance hit “Sunshine Cleaning,” out March 13.
In the film, she plays a single mom — one who wears the pants in the family.
“We went a couple of different ways with my character, Rose. One was the ‘mom jeans’ way, and then there was the pseudo-prostitute version,” she said, noting that she wound up in Lucky Brand jeans and khakis. “That was a real battle. I said… I am not wearing a dress.”
