Kris Allen is singing a whole new tune: The season eight "American Idol" winner and wife Katy O'Connell welcomed their first child on Tuesday, a baby boy.
The musician tweeted the good news, calling the baby "my little stud."
He also sent out an Instagram of himself wearing hospital scrubs, saying, "My outfit for the day," and added the hashtag "#bestdayofmylife.
The 28-year-old and his wife are high school sweethearts and wed in 2008. The baby has been named Oliver Neil Allen and weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces and measured 20 3/4 inches long, Us Weekly confirmed through Allen's representative.
And the day just got better from there, based on his Twitter feed; a few hours after announcing the birth, Allen sent another message. Not of the baby -- but of a winning ticket he got while grabbing some fast food.
Quipped one fan, "So you got your small fry and your medium fries all in one day."
