In the new cowboy comedy “A Million Ways to Die in the West,” Amanda Seyfried plays Louise, a woman who dumps her clean-shaven boyfriend for the smug owner of the local “moustachery.” In real life, however, Seyfried says that scenario never would happen.
In a visit to TODAY Friday, Seyfried admitted that the hairy-lip look isn’t her thing. “I grew up with my dad having just a mustache,” she told anchor Matt Lauer. “The mustache — just the mustache — is a little weird. It just reminds me of my dad too much.”
The actress was quick to add that overall scruffiness is OK. “I like hair,” she told the anchor. “I like a full-grown face. ... I’m into that. So it’s always sad when my boyfriend (actor Justin Long) shaves.”
There’s nothing sad about “Million Ways,” however. Seyfried said the film had “the funniest script I’ve ever read.”
“A Million Ways to Die in the West” opens in theaters May 30.
